I’ve always been involved with sport, whether as a participant or as a coach and so being able continue to develop my career in the Sport and Entertainment industry means I’m exactly where I want to be!
I work as part of the Account Management team as an Account Executive.
8.30am: Call Murf up in Sydney to see if anything urgent needs to be done by the end of the day.
9.00am: Put through any invoices to be paid urgently through Pegasus.
I’m responsible for the accounting and financial affairs of the Gemba group.
I work closely with all areas of the business and the leadership team in particular which provides a lot of variety and challenges to my role.
We're a highly talented bunch who share a passion for all things sport and entertainment. Before joining Gemba in September 2016, I worked in production, mainly working on TVCs and Social Content for brands like William Hill, Sportsbet and Ford.
Start forecasting out results for the next 4 months to complete the FY16 year – not easy given the nature of consulting work.11.30am – Yes, I know it’s early for lunch but I’m starving by this time.
A few years later, I made the big move to the sports capital of Australia – Melbourne.
It has always been a dream of mine to combine my love of sports and entertainment with a professional career.
Make a toasted sandwich and have the entire lunch table to myself as people check their watches thinking it can’t possibly be lunch time yet as I’m tucking in.3pm – Weekly finance meeting with CEO to discuss all finance issues/updates.
Convince CEO that he needs to handover his passport for a day in Shanghai to our Chinese accountants to help set up Gemba China company and bank accounts – first time I’ve seen him nervous! Growing up in Canberra, a city absent of a dominant code, I tried a wide range of sports as a kid including swimming, tennis, cricket, basketball and my biggest sporting passion AFL.
I have worked with many high profile organisations including; Lion, Toyota, Coca-Cola, Telstra, Qantas, IAG, Foxtel, Canterbury, Adidas, Nike, Sanitarium, Commonwealth Bank and Pepsi Co.
